According to Lyn, both Russ (her husband) and she are food lovers. They cook often and used to have many junk foods. This lifestyle led to an increase in her body weight after the age of 40. Every day she used to add around 10 to 20 pounds in her body. So she started looking for some weight loss solutions. In the meanwhile, Lyn tried few diets like the soup diet, the cheese diet, and the army diet. But, none could offer her the expected results. In Phase 1 – This is a loading phase, where she used to have a lot of high-fat foods that are rich in nutrients. She used to have egg benedict for breakfast, homemade hollandaise on asparagus, steak dinner, cream sauce and potatoes with sour cream and butter.

In Phase 2 This is called the core phase which can last for 13 to 43 days. At the initial stage, Lyn thought of continuing it for 21 days but later she extended it to the 27 days program.

She used to have two protein servings every day of 3 ½ ounces of tomato, onion, salad ingredients and herbs. In addition to it foods like beef, lamb, veal, chicken breast and some specified varieties of fish.

Lyn says it is very important that one must have around 8 cups of fluid every day including tea and coffee. Equally, all kinds of sweets are prohibited apart from Stevia. Also, individuals on HCG can have 1 tablespoon of milk every day as long as it is organic in nature.

Quick healthy salad recipes

This is Lyn’s favorite basic dressing

  • 5 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar (red wine vinegar also makes a nice variation)
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
  • ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon honey
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

Mix all this together and serve immediately…

Orange, Walnut dressing

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (mild flavoured)
  • 3 tablespoons of walnut oil
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
  • 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
  • ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ coconut palm sugar (can substitute with brown sugar)
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

Honey and Lemon Juice Dressing

  • 6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (a nice robust one)
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon good quality honey

Sea salt and cracked pepper

This is an amazing salad recipe that can be served with chicken or fish.
